wow i didnt realized till one of my readers informed me that there is a sort of ukay ukay in the USA as well, geesh a first world country selling ukay ukay stuff!!! so i immediately checked out Buffalo Exchange and i'm amazed to learn that it has been around for more than 30 years now. Their first store opened on 1974 in Tucson, Arizona by Kerstin and Spencer Block... the very first store that bought, sold, traded, and took clothing items and accessories on consignment.
Buffalo Exchange is unique because clothing and accessories are bought, sold and traded directly with store customers. You just bring in your old clothes or stuff for trade or cash on the spot! Buffalo Exchange will buy quality items that can be resold, making our selection eclectic and fun. And like in the true nature of ukay ukay you get to designer wear, vintage, jeans, leather, great basics, and irresistible one-of-a-kind items. Their tagline - Buffalo Exchange...where recycling is always in style.
Oh diba ang tarush!!!! So my readers from the USA check out Buffalo Exchange stores and you might get the best deal, dont forget to send me your ukay ukay finds :)

Like you mentioned, ukay-ukay isnt new in the US. :) Its been around forever and its commonly called thrifting over there. For example, Salvation Army offers a big selection of recycled clothes. There are other stores too such as Goodwill Industries, St. Vincent de Paul, ReStore, and many more.
